On October 15, 2024, the Government issued Decree 131/2024/ND-CP on the Special Preferential Import Tariff to implement the VIFTA Agreement between Vietnam and Israel for the period 2024-2027, effective from October 15, 2024. The General Department of Customs guides:
- Customs Departments of provinces and cities disseminate the Decree and guide customs declaration according to regulations.
- Goods from Israel and the non-tariff zone imported into Vietnam that meet the conditions will enjoy VIFTA preferential tax rates (tariff code B28, country code IL).
- Goods under tariff quotas (groups 04.07, 17.01, 24.01, 25.01) are only subject to preferential tax rates within the quota, according to regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In addition to the quota, other tax rates apply according to the current tariff schedule.
